A text arrives. DroidVault will check it against your word list, right on the phone.

A text arrives
Your messaging app receives it as usual. Once you turn on notification access, DroidVault will see the text’s alert when it appears.

Your list decides
Does the message contain a word or phrase on your list? With the Contacts option on, is it from someone who isn’t in your Contacts?

Matches are held quietly
The alert will be silenced and a copy kept in DroidVault’s Held list, with the word that matched. Glance at it once a day, or never.

No rules to write. You will list the words and phrases to watch for, and DroidVault will hold texts that contain any of them.

Words you choose
One word or phrase per line. Tap + to add one and − to remove one. A text is held when it contains any word on your list.
Not in your Contacts
An option, planned to be on from the start, holds only texts from people who aren’t in your Contacts, so a friend who uses one of your words still gets through.
Built so you never miss what matters
A firewall that eats your dentist’s reminder is worse than none. So the safe choices will be the defaults.
Hold, don’t delete
Matching texts will be held for review, never deleted. The original stays in your messaging app, and you can release a held text to bring its alert back.
Always let through
One-time sign-in codes and emergency texts, such as messages from 911, will always come through. With the Contacts option on, so will texts from people in your Contacts.
Know why
Every held text will show the word that caught it.
Private by design
Your word list, your held texts and every check will stay on your phone. None of it will be sent to Gigadyne or to anyone else. No account, no cloud, no ads.
What it will do, plainly
- Android only lets your main texting app delete or block a text. So DroidVault will silence the alert and keep a copy for you to review. The original text still sits in your messaging app, unread.
- It will watch the alerts from Google Messages and from your phone’s default texting app.
- It will need notification access, which stays off until you turn it on and which you can turn off at any time in Android settings. DroidVault will use it only to read message alerts, only on the phone. See section 7 of the privacy policy.
Questions
When is it available?
It’s in development, and we don’t have a date to share. It will arrive as a free update to DroidVault: when it’s ready, the app offers the update and you confirm it.
Does it cost extra?
No. It will be part of DroidVault.
Will I miss important texts?
Matching texts will be held, not deleted, and you can release any of them. One-time codes and emergency texts will never be held, and with the Contacts option on, neither will texts from people in your Contacts.
Do I have to stop using Google Messages?
No. You’ll keep your messaging app and its own spam protection. DroidVault will work alongside it.
